Amanda Padron Project #2
Blog #2
In this second project for my Speech class, I was extremely thrilled to find out the different theme presentations my professor was going to assign to my classmates. Each group was assigned two different topics that had to do with daily problems in the world. I really liked how into detail my professor explained the project and she never had a problem in answering any questions you had in mind about it. Let’s talk about the first group which they talked about Education and Law and Order which had to do with rallies and protest. First and foremost, their PowerPoint presentation was amazing and had lots of visuals and colors and they went into detail with everything and I honestly learned a lot from their presentation. I noticed that in their presentation they used a lot of pathos in order to get everyone’s attention emotionally and for us to connect and understand what they were talking about. Their presentation was super organized and very well explained. Something else that I seriously loved was the student’s own input and opinion about the topic. One of the students talked about how her best friend struggled with the black lives matter movement but she even confessed and told us that she herself attended a protest with her so that she would know that she was there for her. This group also had a lot of analysis and the way they explained they had everyone’s attention for sure. At the end of their presentation, I loved how they included a Kahoot game about what they talked about in the presentation and it made it extremely fun and exciting and it challenged everyone to see who would get first place. Group one did an excellent job in their presentation and I enjoyed it a lot.
Now for group two they also did a fantastic job in explaining their two topics. They talked about Immigration and Health Care. I personally think this topic is super important because there are a lot of immigrants in the United States and is something that should be spoken about. In their presentation, I really enjoyed how the students provided their own opinions and I personally think that is amazing because you can put yourself in their shoes and see what they have experienced and you can see their point of view on things. They used a lot of analytical data and really good information. I also enjoyed how their PowerPoint presentation was set up. They would include videos of them talking and then a short youtube video explaining what they were talking about. It was similar to group one and I personally think that both groups did a great job in explaining their topics and made it super interesting and had everyone’s attention while they were presenting.
Lastly, let’s talk about the last group which is group three which was the group I was in. Not because I was in this group but I personally liked the topics my group was given the most due to the fact that it was about the pandemic and racial divide. Both of those things have made a huge impact in the year 2020 and is something that nobody will ever forget in their life. For the pandemic, my group talked about important things such as different protocols, masks, hygiene, the economy, etc. Then for the racial divide, we talked about BLM, the elections, police brutality, etc. I really liked how my group talked about these topics because they were very unbiased and for example Marlan for the elections, she kept it as unbiased as possible because we all know that the elections are a very intense topic especially now in 2020. It was sad that the class couldn’t see our whole presentation due to the fact that we ran out of time; however, I believe our group did an amazing job in explaining everything as unbiased and detailed as possible. I really enjoyed this project and I felt very passionate about talking about it. All groups did a fantastic job and I learned a whole lot of stuff and I can’t wait for the final project.
Very nice blog. We all learned a lot. That was great!
