Marcos D. Saavedra Cruz (BLOG #2)

In the last presentation It was good to be able to hear about the numerous theme presentations there were going to be for this second project. Two separate subjects, both of which had to do with some world problems, were the responsibility of each party. Our professor gave each group topics that were very well thought out, where we would actually have to do some homework and learn about them in order to know what we were really talking about, as well as to teach anyone who would be listening properly. The first group was responsible for two main subjects: education and law and order, which also concentrated on demonstrations and rallies. With their introduction, the first group certainly did an excellent job. It was very coordinated and the way the subjects were discussed was intense. In order to give emotion to those who were listening, they used a variety of details and also used a lot of pathos, which helped people to see things with an open heart. Any of those who delivered the presentation. I recall when it comes to the issue of marches and demonstrations, when a student actually revealed that her best friend was having a rough time coping with the black life matter campaign, she also revealed that she was attending a rally with her to make sure her best friend realized she was there for her. With their subjects, this group was also very insightful, ensuring that detailed research and up-to-date data were presented to educate anyone listening. This group has ensured that all students were inclusive, adding a Kahoot game with a selection of questions from their presentations at the end, making the class a fun little information challenge; very well done on their part. There was also a fantastic presentation from the second party. They had to talk about health care and immigration, and their introduction was very fascinating to me because they also had a lot of fantastic statistics and statistical research, some students also gave their personal views, which I think is awesome because as a class, we can both listen and hear each other out and consider where each person comes from, even though everyone does not have the same perspectives and such. I really liked the manner in which group 2 arranged their presentation. I assume both groups were influenced by the organizational structure of the first presentation of my party, which is identical to group 1, which included a video presentation accompanied by a YouTube video linked to their topic. The last group I was in still had very fascinating subjects, as a matter of fact, I sincerely feel that my group had the most extreme subject, simply because it was about the pandemic and racial divisions that played and still continue to play a very important role in 2020. All the crucial ties to the pandemic were discussed by our party, whether it was social distancing, masks, sanitation, the role of schools and work, the economy, etc. And there were also very relevant issues touched on when it comes to racial divisions, including demonstrations, police brutality, voting, the BLM campaign, the defund the police issue, etc. I think our presentation, even though we were running out of time, was a very great one. We got great details and great videos, some of which were also really amusing. We were also able to have a little bit of humor while stressing how important our subjects were. All and all for this fall, this theme show was an outstanding project. It gave the class a great deal of awareness about these crucial topics, and I think we were able to learn many new things and overall, everyone did great with their parts.
